Academic Background

Sebastian holds a M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management from RWTH Aachen University and a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Tsinghua University. He is currently doing his doctorate at the chair of Prof. Engelen at the HHU Düsseldorf.

Professional Background

After graduating, Sebastian worked for two years as a consultant in the production environment for an international management consultancy in Hamburg. Within the scope of his third-party funded project, he works for a research and capability building center for industry 4.0 solutions in Aachen, Germany, where he coordinates the implementation of new solutions.

Research Focus

As part of his research, Sebastian investigates the effect of Industry 4.0 solutions on the success of a company. He first creates a description model for Industry 4.0 as input for data analysis. Based on extensive secondary data, Sebastian then uses classification algorithms and dictionary-based procedures to investigate the relationship to company success.
