Academic Background

Caroline holds a B.A. from the RFH University of Applied Sciences Cologne in Media Management with a focus on International Corporate Management. In addition, she completed a dual Master’s degree in International Retail Management at ESB Business School in Reutlingen. In August 2021 Caroline has started her doctorate at the chair of Prof. Engelen at the HHU.

Professional Background

From 2015 to 2019 Caroline worked for a leading German food discounter as District Manager. Since 2019 she has been working for an international management consultancy in Cologne in the field of consumer goods and retail. In addition to her doctorate at the chair of Prof. Engelen, Caroline is working as a research assistant at the TH Cologne with focus on teaching and supporting student founders.

Research Focus

In her research Caroline investigates the impact of strategic corporate decisions and board characteristics on competitive activities and plans to work with large-scale secondary data.
