Academic Background
Gerrit holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration as well as an M.Sc. in Management from the University of Mannheim. Additionally, he spent an exchange semester at University of North Carolina at Greensboro (USA). In January 2022, Gerrit started his doctoral studies at the Chair of Prof. Engelen at HHU.
Professional Background
During his studies and during a gap year between his bachelor’s and master’s, Gerrit completed internships in various industries encompassing M&A, Strategy Consulting, and Automotive. Since early 2020 he has been working for an international management consultancy in Düsseldorf. He specializes in corporate and product strategy for automotive and insurance clients. Gerrit currently is a research assistant at HHU.
Research Focus
In his research activities, Gerrit investigates the effects of different behavioral patterns of European citizens e.g. on their self-perceived level of health and the role of employment status (self-employed vs. employed) and cultural background. He works with extensive secondary data.
