Academic Background
Jakob holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Mannheim and spent a semester at Mahidol University International College in Thailand during his studies. He completed his master's degree at the Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics in Portugal and the Smith School of Business, Queen's University in Canada. Since September 2025, Jakob has been pursuing his PhD under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Engelen at HHU Düsseldorf.
Professional Background
During his studies, Jakob completed various internships in internal and external management consultancies and software companies. Since 2023, he has been working for an international management consultancy in Cologne and is currently a doctoral student at Prof. Dr. Engelen's chair.
Research Focus
As part of his research, Jakob is investigating how past work experience, particularly in the military, affects the decision-making and management style of top management teams. His study will be based on extensive secondary data.
