Academic Background
Ulrich completed his B.Sc. in Business Administration, with a focus on Finance, at the University of Cologne. He earned an M.Sc. in Finance at the University of Cologne. During his studies, he further spend time at Trinity College Dublin and Bocconi University in Milan. In August 2024 Ulrich started his PhD at the chair of Prof. Engelen at HHU Düsseldorf.
Professional Background
During his studies, Ulrich completed various internships in diverse industries with a focus on finance, M&A and strategy. Since 2022 he has been working for an international strategy consulting firm in Cologne. Here, Ulrich mainly served clients in the automotive and private equity industry and worked on projects along the topics of strategy, market entry and company valuation.
Research Focus
As part of his research, Ulrich investigates how founders’ characteristics influence the development and success of new ventures. He plans to work with secondary data.
