Academic Background
Leonard earned a B.Sc. in International Business Administration & Information Technology from the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences and an M.B.A. from the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford. As part of his studies, he also spent a semester abroad at Tongji University in Shanghai, China. In September 2022, Leonard started his PhD at the chair of Prof. Engelen at the HHU.
Professional Background
During his dual studies at a German software manufacturer, Leonard gained experience in various company divisions in Germany and abroad and accompanied front- and back-end projects as a software developer. He also conducted research on topics such as blockchain and machine learning in Germany, France and China. After graduating, Leonard worked for three years as a management consultant for an international consulting firm, supporting companies with their digital transformation and other strategic issues. Currently, Leonard is a research assistant at the chair of Prof. Engelen at HHU Düsseldorf.
Research Focus
As part of his research, Leonard investigates the impact of threats and crises on high-growth and young ventures. He works with extensive secondary data sets and high-performance computing clusters.
